DESCRIPTION:Bartow County "MAGIC" Summer Camps\n\n	Mentoring A Girl In Construction (MAGIC)\n\n	\n\n	June 17-21 @ Cass High School\n\n	July 8-12 @ Adairsville High School\n\n	\n		A FREE one-week day camp\, open to ALL high school age girls in Bartow County\, designed to introduce girls to exciting careers in construction. The girls will realize there is room in the construction industry for their dreams too.\n	\n		The camp will introduce high school girls to women role models who have achieved success in all areas of construction.\n	\n		It will also introduce them to valuable college and tradeswomen scholarship information.\n	\n		They will be offered the opportunity to gain marketable skills\, and to experience the satisfaction of successfully performing difficult hands-on tasks while boosting confidence and self-image.\n	\n		To also engage the girls in the basic trade skills of carpentry\, electrical\, and welding via hands-on training from professional instructors.\n	\n		The MAGIC camp partners with the GPC Plant Bowen and Northwest Georgia "TWIG" group. Supporting the "Go Build Georgia" is a natural fit for Georgia Power.\n\n\n\nGeorgia is experiencing a shortage of skilled trade workers.  Gov. Nathan Deal said there will be 16\,500 openings in Georgia this year for workers such as pipe fitters and plumbers\, electricians and boiler makers.\n\n\n\n"GO Build Georgia" is a program aimed at encouraging more students to engage in technical training.\n\n----------------------------------------------------------------------
