Morgan played in the development of Georgia railroads.\n\nIn addition\, Jones will tell how Mrs. Rowena Clarke of Charleston\, South Carolina brought down the mighty Central Railroad.\n\n\n\nA History of Georgia Railroads will be available for purchase at the program. The event is free for members and is included in the price of admission for non-members.\n\n\n\nAbout the Speaker\n\nRobert C. Jones served as President of the Kennesaw Historical Society for 21 years (1994-2015)\, and also served as a member of the executive board of the Kennesaw Museum Foundation for 17 years (1998-2015). The Museum Foundation helped fund the 45\,000 square foot Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History in Kennesaw\, GA. Robert has written 40+ books on historical topics\, including "A History of Georgia Railroads"\, "A Guide to the Civil War in Georgia"\, and "Heroes and Heroines of the American Revolution".\n\n\n\nAbout Bartow History Museum\n\nThe Bartow History Museum\, located at 4 East Church Street in downtown Cartersville\, Georgia\, documents the history of northwest Georgia's Bartow County\, spanning more than 200 years since the Cherokee were the area's primary residents. Artifacts\, photographs\, documents\, and a variety of interactive permanent exhibits tell the story of settlement\, Cherokee life and removal\, Civil War strife\, and lifestyles of years past. The Bartow History Museum also provides a variety of educational opportunities for adults\, children\, families\, and school groups.
