DESCRIPTION:Getting to Know Genealogy and the Bartow County Genealogical Society\n\n\n\nApril 29\, 2021 at 7 p.m.\n\n\n\nJoin us on Zoom as part of the Bartow History Museum's on-line lecture programming on April 29\, 2021 at 7 p.m. as Sally and Bob Hatfield\, present\, Getting to Know Genealogy and the Bartow County Genealogical Society. Sally is Bartow County Genealogical Society's President and Bob is past President. They will discuss what genealogy is and how to do it. In addition\, they will talk about how the Bartow County Genealogical Society can help researchers.\n\n\n\nThe lecture is free for members and $6.50 for non-members. Tickets are required and available at www.BartowHistoryMuseum.org.\n\n\n\nGet to know your speakers:\n\nBob and Sally Hatfield - Sally\, a homemaker\, was involved in the Girl Scouts of America for over 30 years. She likes working in her yard and making wooden yard ornaments. She is the current president of the Bartow County Genealogical Society. Bob Hatfield\, a Wayne State University graduate\, was an industrial electrician for 30 years. He is currently retired. Bob is a board member of the Cultural Arts Alliance in Bartow County and belongs to the Polish Genealogical Society of America. He is the past President of the Bartow County Genealogical Society. They enjoy traveling and cemetery walking. The Hatfields have taught genealogy for more than 5 years and have given several talks on the subject. They belong to the Bartow County Genealogical Society\, Cobb County Genealogical Society\, Georgia Genealogical Society\, KYOWVA Historical & Genealogical Society\, Wayne Co. (WV) Historical and Genealogy Society\, Cumberland Gap History and Genealogical Society\, and the Immigrant Genealogical Society.\n\n\n\nAbout Bartow History Museum\n\nThe Bartow History Museum\, located at 4 East Church Street in downtown Cartersville\, Georgia\, documents the history of northwest Georgia's Bartow County\, spanning more than 200 years since the Cherokee were the area's primary residents. Artifacts\, photographs\, documents\, and a variety of interactive permanent exhibits tell the story of settlement\, Cherokee life and removal\, Civil War strife\, and lifestyles of years past. The Bartow History Museum also provides a variety of educational opportunities for adults\, children\, families\, and school groups.
