DESCRIPTION:Etowah Valley Historical Society's New Mapping Project\n\n\n\nOn Wednesday\, August 21\, 2013\, Bartow History Museum welcomes guest speaker and Vice President of the Etowah Valley Historical Society\, Joe Head.  Joe will give an overview of the Bartow History Scholar Program's (BHS) new state-of-the-art interactive digital map gallery. These electronic maps are available 24/7 and add a new dimension to understand and visualize Bartow County history. Topics include: Civil War\, Mining\, Historic Communities\, Native Americans\, Geology\, and Cemeteries. Each map is scalable and can be switched between aerial views and topographical base maps. The viewer can click on icons for information\, enlarge features and see roads\, water ways and railroads. All features relate to the themed historical topic and add an instructional graphical value to learning Bartow history. \n\n\n\nLunch and Learn will take place at the Bartow History Museum located at 4 E. Church Street in downtown Cartersville.  Parking is available next to the building.  The lecture is free to members and included with the price of admission for not-yet members.  Guests are invited to bring a lunch beginning at 11:45 a.m.\, and the program will begin at noon.
