SUMMARY:Bartow History Museum: Proposed African American Heritage Trail
DESCRIPTION:Proposed African American Heritage Trail for Bartow County\n\n\n\nThursday\, March 30 at 7 PM\n\nBartow History Museum\n\n4 E. Church Street\, Cartersville\, GA 30120\n\n\n\nJustice Robert Benham of the Georgia Supreme Court and Sheri Henshaw with Keep Bartow Beautiful will be at the Bartow History Museum on March 30th at 7 p.m. to share information on the proposed African American Heritage Trail in Bartow County.\n\n\n\nCurrently there are 10 proposed sites including George Washington Carver Park\, Euharlee Covered Bridge\, and St. James A.M.E. Church to name a few. Benham proposed the trail as an outgrowth of work to preserve the history of George Washington Carver State Park. The stops along the trail would cover themes such as Bartow County's African American communities\, education for minorities\, and African America business and industry.\n\n\n\nThe trail would allow the opportunity to further share Bartow County's African American history with locals but also visitors to the area. In addition\, it could aid in the preservation of endangered sites. Join us for this lecture. It is free for members of the museum and included in the price of admission to the museum for non-members.
