DESCRIPTION:The Railroad During the Civil War\n\n \n\nThe Bartow History Museum welcomes David Ibata\, member of the NC&StL Railway Preservation Society\, as speaker at the upcoming Lunch & Learn program on Wednesday\, May 21\, 2014.  Ibata's topic will be the role of the Western & Atlantic Railroad during the Civil War.\n\n\n\nMr. Ibata is a student of Southeastern railroad history and editor of The Dixie Flyer\, the society's quarterly newsletter.  He also serves on the Kennesaw Museum Foundation board and is assistant editorial editor for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Following years of research\, he has become well versed in the history of the railroad and the important role it has played in our history.  His presentation will include details on why some historians believe that if it was not for the W&A rail line\, there would be no United States as we know it today. \n\n\n\nLunch & Learn will take place on May 21\, 2014\, at noon.  Guests are invited to bring a lunch and the doors will open at 11:45 a.m.\n\n\n\nThe Bartow History Museum is located at 4 E. Church Street in downtown Cartersville.  Parking is available next to the building.  The lecture is free to members and included with the price of admission for not-yet members.
