DESCRIPTION:A Gathering of Eagles\n\n\n\nOn Thursday\, July 26\, 2012\, at 7:00 p.m.\, Bartow History Museum welcomes author\, Walton Young\, who will discuss his novel\, A Gathering of Eagles.  Set primarily in Kingston\, Georgia during Christmas of 1919\, Young's novel is deeply rooted in time and place. It is about Prescott Freeman\, who returns from the battlefields of France in the First World War to the family farm. He finds himself embroiled in another conflict this one between families a conflict fueled by greed and revenge. The novel is about family and about the land. It deals with loss and the redemptive power of love.  Mr. Young will also be available for a book signing after the lecture.\n\n\n\nWalton Young was born in Rome\, GA\, and grew up in the Atlanta area. He worked more than thirty-two years in advertising at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.  Young's ties to northwest Georgia are strong with a father from Kingston and a mother from Floyd County.  Young and his wife\, Suzanne\, split their time between their homes in Sautee-Nacoochee in the north Georgia mountains and in Duluth. A Gathering of Eagles is his first published novel. \n\n\n\nThis Evening Lecture will take place at the Bartow History Museum located at 4 E. Church Street in downtown Cartersville.  Parking is available next to the building.  The lecture is free to members and included with the price of admission for not-yet members.
