DESCRIPTION:College Admissions Map and Plan! Georgia Highlands College will be hosting this workshop for all of our rising seniors\, their parents/guardians\, and non-traditional students within our community. This includes students and graduates in public\, private\, or homeschool programs within Cartersville City and Bartow County. We will walk you step by step through the process on how to prepare applying for a 4-year college or university\, trade\, and /or technical school. Below is a break down of the topics we will be covering.\n\nThis event is FREE to our attendees\, however\, registration is REQUIRED to attend. Lunch will be provided and we will need a confirmed headcount. Please RSVP by July 12\, 2023.\n\nWe have decided to make some changes and condense the information into one day instead of two. Thursday will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Below is a brief overview of what we will go over.\n\nHow to calculate your GPA. Having choices of colleges and how to narrow down your options. Understanding the college admissions process to include the application. Transcript evaluations and more. How much do my college choices cost. How will I pay for my college of choice. How to find scholarships and other financial sources to help me pay for school. Completing the FAFSA for both federal aid and HOPE Scholarship/Grant and Essay writing. We will also have a guest speaker you will not want to miss.\n\nWe encourage parents\, as well as the student\, to attend this informational workshop. Please reserve one ticket per person (one ticket for students and one for parents/guardian) to allow us to plan for a small breakfast\, snacks\, and lunch appropriately.
