SUMMARY:Micromineral Symposium + Field Trips
DESCRIPTION:Bring your microscopes and enjoy a four-day event learning about and viewing microminerals   crystals that are too small to see with the naked eye\, but whose beauty are revealed through a microscope. The event includes time looking at microcrystals\, meeting with fellow micromounters\, listening to lectures by top micro-mineralogists\, a workshop on preparing and photographing microminerals\, and going on field trips to two* of the Southeast's top micromineral localities. Advance registration required. Recommended for ages 8+ with a working knowledge of geology\, mineralogy\, and microscopy. Prepaid registration is required by noon on Monday\, October 30\, 2023. Registration includes Friday field trip\; continental breakfast\, symposium lectures\, microscope time\, lunch buffet\, and pizza and salad dinner buffet with cash bar on Saturday\; and Sunday workshops. Monday field trip is at an additional cost and requires symposium registration.
