DESCRIPTION:CELEBRATE ASTRONOMY! The Museum opens at 10 AM\, and the stargazing begins at 1 PM when we open the Observatory to view the Sun. We will be looking for sunspots and prominences through our telescope. During the afternoon\, kids can enjoy various astronomy-themed activities in the Great Hall. The Bentley Planetarium will have extended hours featuring astronomy-specific shows\, including We Are Astronomers and To Worlds Beyond. NASA Ambassadors will be on-hand\, along with representatives from the Meteorite Association of Georgia giving away meteorite specimens from 1 - 5 PM (while supplies last).\n\n\n\nHead outside when the Sun sets\, as we shift our focus to celestial objects in the evening sky\, such as Mars\, Jupiter\, double star Gamma Leo\, the Moon\, and the Globular Cluster in Hercules. Feel free to bring your own telescope to set up on the lawn and get some tips from members of the Atlanta Astronomy Club. At 9:30 and 10 PM\, Tellus Astronomer David Dundee will lead an outdoor star walk on the Museum grounds that will feature a live tour of the night sky.\n\n\n\nMUSEUM + STORE 10 AM   10 PM\n\nCAFE + PLANETARIUM 10 AM   9 PM\n\nOBSERVATORY 1   11 PM (weather permitting)\n\nCHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES 1   5 PM\n\nSTAR WALKS WITH DAVID DUNDEE 9:30 + 10 PM (meet in the Museum Lobby\, weather permitting)
