SUMMARY:Starting a New Food Business
DESCRIPTION:This workshop addresses many of the concerns of the food entrepreneur who is just getting started (with the exception of restaurant and food truck owners). The UGA Extension faculty and representatives from the National Center for Home Food Preservation and Georgia Department of Agriculture and FDA will address the following topics:  Meeting GDA and FDA regulations\; Challenges involved with starting a food business\; Obtaining label approval\; Choosing a co-packer or shared kitchen\; Product testing for safety (pH\, temp\, etc.)\; Processing techniques for food safety and longer shelf life\; Food safety sanitation\; Record keeping\; and Managing product recalls.\n\n\n\nAttendees who attend the full workshop will be awarded a "Starting a New Food Business in Georgia" certificate of completion.\n\n\n\nCost:  $150.00\n\nYou MUST pre-register.
