DESCRIPTION:Online classroom sessions meet 7 - 8:30 PM Eastern Time.\n\n\n\nTraining is a necessity. Hiring trainers or paying for employees to travel to training sessions is expensive. This workshop is designed to develop effective trainers from talented employees inside your organization.\n\n\n\nAttendees will be introduced to the Interactive Model of Program Planning\; a model that works for various size organizations with a range of resources. Attendees will learn about needs assessment\, program development\, presentation strategies\, and program evaluation\, and practice strategies learned while brainstorming training ideas specific to their organization.\n\n\n\nAt the conclusion of the training\, attendees should have a clearer understanding of the program planning process that they can use to assist their organization in meeting in-house training needs.\n\n\n\nWhat you can expect:\n\n-- Live online classroom sessions in VSU's learning management system\, BlazeVIEW D2L\n\n-- Engagement in small and large group discussions.\n\n-- Instructor will use PowerPoint slides that participants will have access to for personal use.\n\n-- Audio/visual and web resources included.\n\n-- Access to instructor via discussion board and/or email.\n\n\n\nAbout Your Instructor...\n\nDr. Kimberly Tanner served 20+ years in the field of disability services in higher education. She received her Ed.D. in Adult and Career Education at Valdosta State University in 2008. She completed her B.S. in Marine Affairs and her M.S. in Human Development and Family Studies: College Student Personnel at the University of Rhode Island in 1993 and 1996\, respectively. She has been trained as a Diversity Trainer through the National Multicultural Institute and as a University System of Georgia Campus Mediator and Conflict Coach through the Consortium on Negotiation and Conflict Resolution. Kimberly is an instructor of Adult and Career Education at VSU and owner of Tanner Training Group\, LLC. Kimberly also works as a teacher for VIPKID and a Local Coordinator for the Council on International Educational Exchange.
