YOU are invited to join your local community on Saturday\, March 16th at Berry College in Rome\, GA and be part of creating a world free of MS!\n\n \n\nWalk MS is a 5k fundraising walk that benefits the National MS Society   Georgia Chapter.  It is the rallying point of the MS movement\, a community coming together to raise funds and celebrate hope for the future.  Walk MS: Georgia 2013 consists of nine Walk MS events throughout the state of Georgia aimed at uniting friends\, families\, individuals and corporations under the common goal of raising funds for programs and research\, while promoting public awareness of MS.  \n\n \n\nEvery step. Every person. Every second spent and dollar raised.  They all add up to an experience unlike any other: Walk MS.  This is our time to unite and stand strong.  Together we WILL change lives! \n\n \n\n Join the movement   register to walk\, form a team\, volunteer\, or donate online at www.walkMS.org.  \n\n \n\nAbout MS and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society-Georgia Chapter\n\nMultiple Sclerosis interrupts the flow of information from the brain to the body and stops people from moving. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress\, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted\, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS. MS affects more than 9\,000 people in Georgia\, over 400\,000 people in the U.S.\, and 2.5 million worldwide.\n\n \n\nThe Georgia Chapter assists clients locally by providing direct financial assistance\, respite care\, self-help groups and peer counseling\, community information and referrals\, education\, publications\, and recreational and social programs. The chapter also conducts in-service training for healthcare professionals to advance their knowledge of MS.
