Join us for a special program for the opening day of our Juneteenth: Freedom Day Display! Elmer Henderson of the Summer Hill Heritage Museum will discuss the project surrounding the Pathways to Freedom: A Story in Every Stitch quilt sculpture in downtown Cartersville, as well as the historical significance of quilts in relation to the Underground Railroad. A quilt of this kind, handmade by staff member Beth Cartier, will be available to view in the Juneteenth display.
