President's Gala 2020 at Shorter University

Join us for the 3rd annual Christmas on the Hill President’s Gala. The event will feature special guest speaker Dr. Sylvia Washington and will be a wonderful time to celebrate the birth of Christ.
​Dr. Washington is a Pediatrician with Floyd Primary Care Pediatrics and serves as Chair of Floyd’s Department of Pediatrics. She is local site director for the Reach Out and Read Program. A humble servant of Jesus who prays with her patients and staff, Dr. Washington knows firsthand what a blessing scholarships can be. The Atlantic City Public Schools (New Jersey) graduate received scholarships to attend Howard University and Medical School.

Dr. Washington has been named Floyd’s Physician of the Year (2018), one of Rome Life Magazine’s Twenty Under Forty (2019), and the Georgia Chapter of American Academy of Pediatrics’ Young Physician of the Year (2019). She is married to Dr. Marcus Washington, Assistant Professor of Education in Shorter’s School of Education. They have three children: Christian, Daniel and Stephanie.
