The Etowah Valley Historical Society is hosting a reception slated for July 22 at the Gold Dome Courthouse at 6:30 - 8:00 PM. The exhibit is a partnership with Reinhardt University entitled, Spirits of Pine Log Mountain and will feature remarks from Dr. Donna Little of the University. The exhibit and reception is open to the public. The public may visit free of charge during scheduled hours and will be here through Labor Day.
The exhibit showcases the history of Pine Log Mountain including: Mining, Chain Gangs, Moonshiners, Pauper Farm, Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC), lost towns, Native Americans, Civil War and noted women authors such as Corra Harris and Francis Adair from the mountain region.
