Ribbon Cutting for Cartersville Medical Center's Emergency Department
Cartersville Medical Center’s Emergency Department is a 51,000 plus square-foot facility that houses 30 patient treatment rooms, including a “fast treatment area” for rapid medical evaluation, 23 general treatment rooms, three large trauma rooms, 4 pediatric rooms and dedicated imaging services with a new CT scanner. The groundbreaking for this project began in October 2012 and was undertaken in two phases so the department could continue to function as renovations were underway. From start to finish, the project took 15 months.
The $18 million upgrade has provided additional space and will allow Cartersville’s Emergency Department to treat more patients while offering a warmer, more private and intimate healing environment.
Leaders will speak briefly beginning at 2:00 p.m. with the ribbon cutting to follow.
