Lecture: Dr. Michael Wise from the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History will compose the rare emerald deposits found in North Carolina. Activity: Touch rock and mineral specimens from North Carolina.
Free Planetarium Show: Supervolcanoes Explore the rare types of volcanic eruptions that marshal the energy beneath Earth’s surface. The story of these big blow-outs is a tale of havoc and mayhem. In this unique immersive experience, narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch, audiences will explore the impact of volcanism on Earth and other worlds in our solar system.
Recommended for ages 6 and up. Show times: 5:15, 6:00, 6:45, 7:30 and 8:15 PM
