The Activity Activity Coordinator is responsible for creating a safe, positive, and engaging environment where youth feel supported, challenged, and inspired. Staff deliver high-quality programs aligned with Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s priority outcomes—Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Leadership—while building meaningful relationships with youth and modeling professionalism, empathy, and consistency.
This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and essential to the daily success of the Club.
We’re looking for positive, dependable team members to support our after-school, school breaks, and summer program. After School Operation Hours are 2:00 PM - 7:00 Pm Monday–Friday. School Breaks and Summer Program Operation Hours are 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Hours may adjust based on program needs.
The ideal candidate would be able to assist consistently with after-school, school breaks, summer, and occasional weekend and after hour events. Willing to float between our Adairsville Unit & Cartersville Unit.
Lead daily programs, activities, and enrichment experiences in alignment with BGCA core program areas.
Facilitate structured activities such as Power Hour, STEM projects, arts, sports, and leadership programs.
Create an inclusive, welcoming environment where all youth feel seen, safe, and valued.
Support youth in developing social-emotional skills, positive peer interactions, and healthy decision-making.
Maintain a safe, orderly environment by following all safety procedures, supervision ratios, and Club policies.
Use positive behavior guidance strategies, trauma-informed practices, and consistent expectations.
Monitor youth movement, transitions, and attendance to ensure accountability and safety.
Respond calmly and professionally to conflicts, incidents, or concerns.
Build strong, supportive relationships with youth that encourage belonging and personal growth.
Communicate respectfully and professionally with families, coworkers, and community partners.
Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating integrity, empathy, and leadership.
Prepare program spaces, materials, and equipment for daily activities.
Track attendance, participation, and program outcomes as required.
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and coaching sessions to strengthen skills and consistency.
Collaborate with coworkers to ensure smooth daily operations and positive Club culture.
Assist with special events, celebrations, and seasonal programs.
Step into different program areas as needed to support the team and maintain safety.
Experience working with youth in education, childcare, recreation, or youth development.
Strong communication, patience, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to lead groups, manage behavior, and maintain structure with warmth and consistency.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
