Description
Susan Gilmore speaks about Dicksie Orine Bradley Bandy, a key driver in the industrial transformation and economic recovery of Northwest Georgia during the Great Depression. Born in 1890 near Folsom, Georgia, the industry she built became a vital part of the international textile and carpet industry. After WWII, she became the official Ambassador to the Cherokee Nation and led a campaign to restore a prominent monument to the Cherokee culture in Georgia.
She was inducted into the Georgia Women of Achievement Hall of Fame in 1993.
