2026 Outdoor Recreation Summit

The Northwest Georgia Regional Commission and Bartow County invite you to register for the 2026 Outdoor Recreation Summit, June 15-16, 2026, at Lakepoint Sports in Cartersville, Georgia!  This must-attend event brings together local parks and recreation staff, economic development professionals, transportation and land use planners, and elected and appointed leaders to explore how to plan, fund, build, market, and sustain active and passive outdoor recreation.  The Summit boasts two full days of diverse sessions with options for both rural and urban communities.  Attendees will hear from experienced speakers from Georgia DCA, DOT, DNR, and the Appalachian Regional Commission; engage with diverse topics, from planning for pickleball to Georgia's Rural Active Transportation Plan; participate in mobile workshops;  and build valuable connections at the intersection of outdoor adventure and economic development.  Continuing education credits for NRPA recreation professionals and AICP planners will be available for all sessions.  Please share with your staff and community!

Local governments and organizations registering two to three staff will receive a 10% discount; those registering four or more staff will receive a 25% discount.  Both days of the conference, full meals will be provided for breakfast and lunch.
