Learn About Candler, Coca-Cola, and the Connection to Cartersville Local Historian Joe Head Shares His Research

The Bartow History Museum welcomes Joe Head to its Evening Lecture series on July 28th at 7 p.m. Head, a local historian, will share his recent research on Asa Candler, founder of The Coca-Cola Company. Candler was born in 1851 in Villa Rica, Georgia. In addition to founding The Coco-Cola Company, he was a banker, philanthropist, and even served as Mayor of Atlanta. Candler died in 1929.

The presentation will reveal a much deeper family connection to Cartersville than previously known. Also, Head will share his findings to identify where the actual pharmacy, in which Candler worked, was located on Main Street and surprising Candler family ties back to Cartersville after The Coca-Cola Company was organized.
