The Bartow History Museum welcomes Robert Jones, author and president of the Kennesaw Historical Society, as speaker at the upcoming Lunch & Learn program on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at noon.  Jones’ topic will be how World War I radically changed warfare and the 20^th century.

As July 2014 marks the 100^th anniversary of the beginning of World War I, Jones will discuss his book The Top 10 Innovations of World War I.  These innovations, ranging from technological to strategic to political, include the use of U-boats, poison gas, trench warfare, and more.  WWI served as a testing ground for these weapons and ideas that affected the rest of the 20^th century.  His book contains over 50 illustrations and maps and is available for purchase in the Museum Gift Shop. 

In addition to serving as president of the Kennesaw Historical Society, Robert Jones is a prolific author, having written books on the Civil War, railroads, ghost towns, and Christian history.  

Lunch & Learn will take place on July 16, 2014, at noon.  Guests are invited to bring a lunch and the doors will open at 11:45 a.m.

The Bartow History Museum is located at 4 E.
