Remnants of Old Bartow (Bartow County, Georgia) Authors to Speak at Bartow History Museum

On Wednesday, June 21, at noon, the Bartow History Museum welcomes co-authors Vicki W. Crowe and Brandi Ritchie of Bartow Ancestors, who will be sharing stories from their latest book, Remnants of Old Bartow.  Attendees will hear about sites such as: The Sugar Hill Mines & Mining Camp, the Tabernacle Baptist Church/Gilmer Street Baptist Church/Booth Western Art Museum connection, the B. Mifflin Hood Brick Company, the Georgia Institute of Genetics, the Union fort on Battery Hill at the Etowah Bridge, and more. The book is available at the Bartow History Museum gift shop.
 
About the Speaker
Bartow Ancestors began in 2011 with Vicki W. Crowe. With almost 7,000 followers, Bartow Ancestors has focused on the people, places, and events of the Bartow County area. Vicki and her husband, Michael, released the first Bartow Ancestors publication, Dr. John Washington Lewis, in 2015. Since then, in 2016, Vicki and Brandi Ritchie published Over 150 Years of Murder in Bartow County, Vol. 1.  In 2017, they published Remnants of Old Bartow. They are now in process of writing Over 150 Years of Murder in Bartow County, Vol. 2, and a story about an outlaw from Cartersville in the late 1800’s. Vicki is the Chief Operating Officer of Bartow Ancestors, Inc., and Brandi Ritchie is the Secretary/Treasurer. Both have family ties in Bartow dating back to the 1840’s.
