Bartow History Museum, 4 E. Church Street, Cartersville, GA 30120
On July 17th at noon at the Bartow History Museum, authors David and Maria Trawinski will discuss the research and story of their new book, Ever Blooms the Rose: A Novel of Cartersville Rebels, Renegades and Reconstruction. According to Trawinski, “We plan to call this session ‘Researching The Rose’, for not only did the Bartow History Museum Archives assist us so in our research, but this building in which we will present is the old courthouse built in 1867-1873. This site is a major element in our story, and truly one of the foundational historical structures in this town. We will also cover research into the Euharlee bridge collapse of 1871, the building of the Nelson Gilreath cottage that eventually became Rose Lawn, and the burning of Cartersville in November 1864.” The program is free for members and included in the price of admission to the museum for non-members.
