Description
Exploring History Through Fiction: Donna Little Presents Wofford’s Blood Donna Little will discuss and read from her latest historical fiction novel, Wofford’s Blood. Set in 1815, Wofford’s Blood is an epic family saga rooted in Cherokee and North Georgia history. The novel follows 13-year-old J.D. Wofford, the son of a Cherokee mother and a white Intruder father, as he navigates the complex borderlands between Georgia and the Cherokee Nation. Themes of loyalty, identity, and survival take center stage as J.D. is torn between two worlds. When a family crisis arises, J.D. and his friends embark on a transformative journey that challenges their childhood bonds and alters their lives forever. Based on true events and historical figures, the story highlights the rich heritage of Bartow County and the Cherokee people. Little will share insights into her creative process, the historical research that shaped the novel, and the importance of preserving Bartow County’s stories through fiction. This session offers a unique experience for history enthusiasts and literary fans.
