Join us for an evening of evening filled with meaningful fellowship, inspiring speakers, good food, and maybe even a little dancing. The Juneteenth Gala is the highlight of the Juneteenth celebration and will be held on the Lower Level at the Dalton Convention Center, located at 2211 Dug Gap Battle Rd. Last year’s event sold out at 450; so, this year we moved to a larger room and are expecting 500 of our neighbors and friends. African attire encouraged, black tie optional. There will be a cash bar.
GALA KEYNOTE SPEAKER
This year’s keynote speaker is Honorable Steve C. Jones, United States District Court Judge of the Northern District of Georgia Judge Jones was appointed by former President Obama and was confirmed by the Senate in 2011 in a 90-0 vote. Before serving in federal court, Jones had served as a judge of the 10th Superior Court District of Georgia since 1995. He was born and raised in Athens, Ga., and attended the University of Georgia for both his undergraduate and law degree, which he received in 1987. Judge Jones presides over cases that involve the United States government, the United States Constitution, federal laws, controversies between citizens of different states and other matters.
