Ribbon Cutting - Pettit Preserve
Description
The Ribbon Cutting will be at The Pettit Environmental Preserve at 4:30 PM on Thursday, May 29.
The Preserve is located off Dallas/Cartersville HWY 61
Our entrance is from Douthit Bridge Rd past the Birchwood Farms Subdivision.
If using GPS, enter “Douthit Bridge Rd, Paulding Co”
From Cartersville
1) Take Highway 113/61 South; turn left on Hwy 61 at Cartersville airport.
**2) Follow Hwy 61 for 3.8 miles, then turn left on Douthit Bridge Rd (at Birchwood subdivision).
++3) After .4 mi the road becomes one-lane, unpaved; proceed to fork in road and take right on Vineyard Rd; continue for another 1.6 mi (passing through two gates) to The Pettit Preserve.
4) Parking is in a graveled lot on your left after you pass the large Pettit Preserve sign.
From I-75:
1) Take Exit 285, Red Top Mountain and head WEST (away from the State Park).
2) Go straight at the traffic light; road becomes Old Alabama Rd.
3) Proceed on Old Alabama for approximately 7 miles. At stop sign, turn LEFT onto Hwy 61.
4) Proceed with Cartersville directions from **

1) 11.5 miles on Hwy 61 North/Cartersville Hwy. Turn RIGHT on Douthit Bridge Rd at Birchwood subdivision.
2) Proceed with above Cartersville directions from ++
