Position Overview
P&W Quality Machine of Georgia is seeking an experienced and motivated Machine Shop Sales Representative to join our growing team. This position will focus heavily on new business development while also building and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers.
The Sales Representative will promote our machine shop, custom machining, and hydraulic repair services to customers across a wide range of industrial sectors, including manufacturing, grading, concrete, packaging, and other industrial applications.
This is a hands-on industrial sales position. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with customers, understanding their equipment or machining needs, gathering the information necessary to quote a job, and working with our internal team to deliver the right solution.
A strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining and industrial applications are important for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect, identify, and develop new customers across manufacturing and industrial markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing customers.
- Visit customer facilities to evaluate needs, discuss projects, and identify sales opportunities.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate machining, hydraulic repair, or related shop services.
- Gather accurate job information needed for estimating and quoting.
- Prepare and present quotes, pricing, proposals, and technical information to customers.
- Consistently follow up on outstanding quotes and sales opportunities.
- Create and manage work orders and process invoices for assigned jobs.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, maintenance, and shop personnel to address technical questions and develop customer solutions.
- Monitor assigned jobs and provide customers with updates throughout the production or repair process.
- Provide strong after-sales service and follow-up to maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Maintain accurate customer information, sales activity, quote history, and market information within company systems.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3+ years of industrial sales, manufacturing, machining, hydraulic, or related experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand industrial equipment and applications.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and customer-service skills.
- Comfortable using computer-based quoting and work-order systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Ability to pass required drug screening.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly to customer locations during the workday.
- Previous sales experience within a machine shop, hydraulic repair shop, fabrication shop, or similar industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of machining processes, machine tools, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with E2 Shop System software.
- Ability to read and understand calipers and other common measuring instruments.
- Technical training or degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, machining, or a related field.

This person should be a strong relationship builder who is equally comfortable cold prospecting for new accounts, discussing technical projects, preparing quotes, following up on opportunities, and managing a job through completion.
