Piedmont Cartersville Invites Community to Run, Walk and Support Breast Cancer Patients at 2026 Boo Run
Halloween-themed 5K and Wellness Walk on Oct. 31 will benefit breast cancer patients at Piedmont Cartersville Oncology
Cartersville, Ga. (Oct. 12, 2026) – Piedmont Cartersville is inviting the community to put on their favorite Halloween attire and lace up their running or walking shoes for the Piedmont Cartersville 2026 Breast Cancer Boo Run on Saturday, Oct. 31, at Hamilton Crossing Park in Cartersville.
The Halloween-themed event will feature a 5K and 1-mile “Wellness Walk,” bringing the community together to celebrate breast cancer survivors, support those currently fighting the disease and raise funds benefiting breast cancer patients at Piedmont Cartersville Oncology.
Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the race starting at 9 a.m. Participants are encouraged to wear creative Halloween attire as they race, run or walk in support of breast cancer patients and survivors.
The Boo Run is part of Piedmont Cartersville’s efforts to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of screening and early detection. Throughout October, the hospital is highlighting breast health through community outreach, including its free and discounted mammogram campaign and Wear Pink Wednesdays.
“Breast cancer touches so many individuals in our community, and the Boo Run gives us an opportunity to come together in a fun and meaningful way,” said Ginger Tyra, Director of Community Relations at Piedmont Cartersville. “Whether you run the 5K, take part in the Wellness Walk or simply come out to support a friend or family member, every participant is helping us stand alongside the patients and families facing breast cancer.”
The event's presenting sponsor is McCarthy, with Martin General Contracting Inc. serving as the gold sponsor. Java Joy, breakfast sponsor, will serve biscuits and coffee while supplies last, along with free hugs. The proceeds will benefit breast cancer patients at Piedmont Cartersville Oncology.
