Cartersville, Ga. — Piedmont Cartersville is bringing healthcare into the community with the launch of “Cut the Pressure,” a new initiative focused on raising awareness of high blood pressure and improving early detection in the Black community.

The program will kick off Friday, June 26, with free blood pressure screenings from 1- 3 p.m. at The Fade Club Barber Shop, located at 1350 Joe Frank Harris Parkway, Suite 104, in Cartersville.

Designed to reach individuals in trusted, everyday settings, the initiative aims to address the disproportionate impact of hypertension in the Black community while encouraging more people to know their numbers.

“Cut the Pressure” is intended to have a lasting impact beyond the launch event. Through this partnership, the barbershop will continue offering blood pressure monitoring for customers year-round, creating an accessible, comfortable space for ongoing health checks.

Often called the “silent killer,” high blood pressure typically has no symptoms, leaving many unaware they are at risk. Nearly half of U.S. adults are affected, making prevention, education, and early detection essential.

This initiative reflects Piedmont’s commitment to improving community health by meeting people where they are and expanding access to preventive care outside traditional clinical settings.
