Piedmont Cartersville Opens New Sleep Center to Expand Access to Specialized Sleep Care

Cartersville, Ga. (Oct. 19, 2026) – Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center is pleased to announce the opening of the new Piedmont Cartersville Sleep Center, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to diagnosing and treating sleep disorders for patients throughout Bartow County and surrounding communities. The center is located on the first floor of the Physician Center, 970 Joe Frank Harris Blvd. SE, Suite 110, Cartersville, Ga.
The new sleep center offers comprehensive sleep studies and specialized care for patients age 18 and older experiencing chronic sleep-related conditions. Staffed by board-certified sleep medicine physicians, registered polysomnographic technologists and respiratory therapists, the center provides expert care close to home.
“Quality sleep is essential to overall health and well-being,” said Lori Rakes, chief executive officer of Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center. “The opening of the Piedmont Cartersville Sleep Center expands access to specialized care in our community and reinforces our commitment to helping patients live healthier lives. By providing advanced diagnostic services locally, patients can receive the care they need without traveling far from home.”
Sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, insomnia and restless sleep can significantly affect a person’s physical health, mental well-being and quality of life. The Piedmont Cartersville Sleep Center is designed to help identify the underlying causes of sleep disturbances and develop individualized treatment plans.
Patients undergoing sleep studies will benefit from private, hotel-style rooms equipped with modern amenities, including televisions, Wi-Fi and private bathrooms. The center utilizes advanced technology to monitor brain waves, oxygen levels, heart rate, breathing patterns, eye movements and limb movements throughout the night. The facility also provides specialized testing and titration for CPAP, Bi-level and ASV airway pressure therapies when needed.
For patient safety and comfort, all studies are monitored overnight by experienced technologists in a secure, locked facility. The sleep center is also conveniently located within the Physician Center, providing quick access to acute medical care if necessary and streamlined insurance verification for testing.
“Quality sleep plays a vital role in overall health, and our goal is to help patients identify and address the root causes of their sleep concerns,” said Timothy J. Lin, M.D., pulmonologist and sleep specialist at the Piedmont Cartersville Sleep Center. “Many sleep disorders go undiagnosed for years. Through comprehensive testing and expert evaluation, we can provide patients with clear answers and effective treatment options that help them sleep better and live healthier lives.”
The Piedmont Cartersville Sleep has recently obtained certification by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, consistent with other sleep centers throughout the Piedmont system.
