JOB TITLE: Part-Time Concession Stand Worker
 
PAY RATE: Based on Experience
 
DEPARTMENT: Parks & Recreation Department, City of Cartersville
 
JOB SUMMARY: This position works under the general direction of the Parks & Recreation management staff and is responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages while providing excellent customer service. This position ensures cleanliness, safety, and efficiency in concession operations and follows all City of Cartersville policies and procedures.
 
MAJOR DUTIES: 
· Greet customers and take food and beverage orders.
· Prepare and serve concession items such as snacks, drinks, and light meals.
· Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately.
· Maintain cleanliness of concession stand, equipment, and surrounding areas.
· Restock food, beverages, and supplies as needed.
· Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
· Monitor inventory and report shortages or supply needs.
· Provide general information to patrons regarding facility offerings.
· Work collaboratively with staff to ensure efficient operations.
· Assist with opening and closing procedures.
· Perform all other duties as assigned.
 
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:
· Must be at least 15 years old.
· Previous customer service or food service experience preferred.
· Ability to handle cash and operate a register accurately.
· Basic math and communication skills.
· Ability to stand for long periods of time.
· Friendly, responsible attitude with strong customer service skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to operate basic equipment, including point-of-sale systems.
 
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: The Aquatics Manager assigns work in terms of departmental goals and objectives.

GUIDELINES: Guidelines include City of Cartersville policies, food safety regulations, and standard operating procedures.

COMPLEXITY: The work consists of routine food preparation and customer service tasks that require attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

SCOPE AND EFFECT:   The purpose of this position is to provide quality food service and customer experience while maintaining a clean and safe concession environment.

PERSONAL CONTACTS: Contacts are typically with patrons, visitors, and other employees.

PURPOSE OF CONTACTS: Contacts are typically to provide service, exchange information, and resolve minor issues.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is typically performed while standing for extended periods. The employee may be required to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Tasks may involve bending, reaching, and handling food service equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:   The work is typically performed in a concession stand or outdoor recreational setting. The employee may be exposed to heat, noise, and fast-paced conditions requiring flexibility and multitasking.
